Sylvia Kaawe is a financial inclusion expert with a passion for Women Economic Justice. Sylvia Manages the Women Economic Empowerment Program at CARE International in Uganda and has an accumulated 21 years of experience of both Development and Humanitarian work in Uganda and South Sudan.

Sylvia’s programmatic aspirations are focused on: Social Entrepreneurship as an economic empowerment catalyst; Promoting Women Empowerment Collectives; Strategic engagements with relevant government ministries and private sector entities and Technology advancement all centered on Gender Transformation. Personal Interests: Travelling and getting exposed to new frontiers; Music as food for the soul; Spending quality, productive time with family and learning Golf as I age gracefully.

From an entrepreneurial point of view: she likes identifying opportunities and actualizing them: she runs a small food store in her neighborhood that she opened up during COVID19 lock-down, when there was dire need for food, a bar and open space meeting point, working out a small café/ coffee shop and have been in real estate business for almost 10 years.
