Maurizio Ramonda works in the SAI (Sistema Accoglienza Integrazione) project for the integration of refugees. He is the coordinator of a multidisciplinary team of the project in Stura Valley, a mountain area in the province of Cuneo. His professional career originates from the world of volunteering. For ten years he has been teaching Italian to foreigners and organizing events. For the Idee.comunità association, he writes projects and coordinates volunteers. Currently, he works as Italian teacher for foreigners and as coordinator of a multidisciplinary team in the SAI, which is a project of the Ministry of the Interior.

In 2020-2021, he was a professor of the Italian language at the CPIA. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities and a Master’s degree in Languages and Civilizations of Asia and Africa at the University of Turin. In 2019 he got the CEDILS certification to teach Italian to foreigners. He is currently attending the Master’s Degree in Linguistics.

His most important experience was a period of study and volunteering in Egypt, both in the Capital and in a rural village in Southern Egypt where he conducted field research for the master’s degree thesis. He traveled to Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia several times to deepen his knowledge of the Arabic language and culture. Since 2020, he has been working on a social impact project in the province of Cuneo together with some friends. The project, which is undergoing experimentation, faces the challenge of social exclusion and the educational and economic poverty of people in difficult economic and housing conditions.
