Categories: Alumni, Foundations, Mediterranean Region

***Alumnus of the Ashoka Visionary Program (Mediterranean) 2019***

Andrew manages the Greece operations of the Costas M. Lemos Foundation, a philanthropic foundation which focusses on the marine environment and unemployed youth. This involves oversight of all donations, processes and communications of the Foundation’s Greek activities.

Since formalising its internal processes and application procedure, the Foundation has now made a number of significant donations to organisations and social enterprises working in Greece, from sustainable fishing projects and environmental education programmes, to a marine research institute, an NGO-incubator and various others.

Following working for five years as a solicitor at an international maritime specialist law firm in London, Shanghai and Athens, focussing on complex and high-value litigation, Andrew also continues to explore his practice as a sound artist, composing sound pieces which raise awareness about various environmental issues including deep-sea mining and sea-level rise. Through this work he has worked closely with the TBA-21 Academy, a cultural organisation with a focus on the marine environment, and has presented his projects at the UN Ocean Conference 2017, documenta14 in Athens and the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum in Berlin.
