Founder Centrum LOCIKA, Czech Republik
Categories: NGOs, Participants
Petra Wünschová is a child therapist by background. For more than twenty years, she has been working with children affected by trauma and violence in their families.
She is the founder and director of Centrum LOCIKA, the first specialized center in the Czech Republic supporting child victims and witnesses of violence. Based on its work and impact, a new legal provision — §41 Protection and Assistance to Children at Risk of Violence — was introduced, enabling similar centers to be created across the country. We also co-authored the government’s Safe Childhood Strategy, securing long-term funding for these services nationwide, and through our civic initiative “Childhood Without Violence”, they achieved a legal ban on corporal punishment effective from January 2026.
Her goal is to strengthen international cooperation and the sustainability of systemic change so that every child can grow up free from violence.
