Categories: NGOs, Participants

Johannes Gärtner was born in a non-academic family in Tyrol, studied Computer Science at Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU), afterwards he was promoted to Associate University Professor at the TU-Wien. His family (married, two sons) and my friends are very important to him, but also fairness and good living & working conditions, and he enjoys spending time in the mountains, visiting museums, watching soccer, eating good food and author serious & improbable research papers.

He has been working in a variety of different domains, including software development, trade unions, consultancy, and research. He co-founded and served as CEO of XIMES GmbH (Consulting & Software for better Working Hours / Shiftwork) for over two decades. He is also a co-founder and current CEO of Respekt.Net GmbH, which aims to strengthen civil society by providing technical infrastructure and know-how.
